With the Heritage Classic hockey game here in Edmonton the league brought alot of hardware with them!
Today I took a walk through hockey history. It was another great day to cap off a fantastic weekend. Of course, it would have been unbelievably fantastic if I was actually able to attend the outdoor hockey game!
Speaking of the outdoor game. They needed to sell 30 thousand tickets to break even and were concerned if they would sell any more than that. Commonwealth Stadium seats just under 60 thousand. When it was announced that the game was a go they received a WHOOPING 750 thousand inquires for tickets! Ya, I think we were interested!!!

Edmonton Heritage Classic!
|

Today is the big outdoor hockey game. A mere -17.8 showing on my deck thermometer! Yikes! Got up early this morning and headed over to City Hall where there are a bunch of festivities happening. This was one of the best days of my life! Getting to see The Stanley Cup is every Canadians dream! And I dreamed that dream today! I'm still smiling about it. The Grey Cup was also on hand. You were allowed to touch that...but not Stanley.  I also got Grant Fuhr's autograph which was pretty cool. His hockey number is one of the few that the Edmonton Oilers retired. He was also recently inducted into The Hockey Hall of Fame.

EDMONTON ESKIMOS, GREY CUP CHAMPIONS 2003!
|
|
Went to the indoor/outdoor parade this morning. Edmonton won the Grey Cup last Sunday beating the Montreal Alouette's 34-22. They held Montreal to just a single point in the second half. Amazing! This ends the Eskimos 10 year drought for the cup!

Lac Sante in November
|

Spent the weekend out at the lake. Was a little nippy but really beautiful. Lac Sante is about an hour and 45 minutes North East of Edmonton. My inlaws just finished having their cabin/house built on their lake lot this September. Now we can enjoy the beauty out there all year round instead of just the summer months. I just LOVE it.
